Vitamin C - This form of vitamin is water soluble and can't be stored in human body like Vitamin A, it gets expelled from our body through urine. So, we need to intake Vitamin C on daily basis.
Our skin not only acts as exit door for internal body toxins but also remain exposed to various types of toxicity of the polluted environment, hence it needs constant protection from free radicals to keep its protien intact for maintaining healthy skin.

Vitamin C serves as a powerful antioxidant and an important component for synthesis of Collagen to prevent it from wrinkles and other problems by maintaining the skin resilience, durability, and structural stability.
The Free Radical or reactive oxygen

How Vitamin C Helps Acne

Vitamin C is useful in acne treatment for two major reasons: it
serves as an antioxidant and it contributes to collagen synthesis.
As an antioxidant, vitamin C removes harmful free radicals and reducing them to harmless compounds.
Damage
to the skin from free radicals is one of the root causes of acne. Since
the skin is exposed to environmental toxins and also serves as an exit
for the body to push out systemic toxins, it needs to be constantly
protected from free radicals.
When free radicals are left on the skin, they break down the proteins
and fatty acids making up the skin and disturb the normal pH of the
skin. These effects are cumulative and can change the nature of the
skin.
When free radicals harm the sebaceous gland, they can increase the
production of sebum and leave the skin open to bacterial infections.
Acne-causing bacteria such as Propionibacterium acnes
will only worsen the condition of the skin by causing inflammatory acne
lesions, increasing the accumulation of dead skin cells and clogging
skin pores.
To prevent this chain reaction that leads to acne breakouts, vitamin C
can help mop up the free radicals before they damage the skin.
This keeps the skin protected and prevents the formation of acne lesions.

Vitamin C is necessary for proper synthesis of collagen, which is really important for acne, our skin, and our bodies in general. Collagen is the most abundant protein in humans, and it’s what makes up the connective tissue that gives our body form.

There are several good reasons to take vitamin C for acne. It helps reduce redness, maintain healthy collagen levels, and acts as a powerful antioxidant. Let’s take a closer look at each of these.
Vitamin C helps reduce the redness associated with acne. Your body releases certain inflammatory chemicals in an attempt to kill the acne bacteria.
[Vitamin C] helps reduce redness, maintain healthy collagen levels, and acts as a powerful antioxidant.
However, the acne bacteria have a special “decoy” system which allows them to redirect these inflammatory chemicals toward the skin. So instead of dead bacteria, we get red inflamed skin.
Taking vitamin C for acne helps to actually “tone down” your immune system, preventing it from overreacting and making things worse in the process. This helps eliminate the redness!
Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant. This is important because research has shown that reactive oxygen can damage your skin and even increase the inflammation and scarring related to acne. So, you want antioxidants like vitamin C for acne, because they eliminate these dangerous free oxygen molecules.
And finally, vitamin C helps your body properly synthesize collagen. Collagen is extremely important for healthy skin, because it’s responsible for what the skin looks like. It gives the skin resilience, durability, and structural stability. A lack of collagen will cause wrinkles and other problems.

play a crucial role in the regulation of the structural protein collagen, which is necessary for the extracellular stability of the skin. A vitamin C deficiency causes scurvy, which is first manifested as rough dry skin and corkscrew hair growth. Inadequate vitamin C is also known to contribute to the development of the common problem of hyperkeratosis pillaris, as the follicles become damaged when collagen formation is impaired.
Increasing the amount of vitamin C in the diet can contribute to improved skin health and faster healing. Observational studies have shown that diets high in vitamin C are associated with better skin appearance and less skin wrinkling. (12, 13) Vitamin C may also help prevent and treat ultraviolet (UV)-induced photodamage by acting as an antioxidant. (14) Higher intakes of dietary vitamin C have been correlated with a decreased level of dry skin, and ascorbic acid may have effects on trans-epidermal water loss. (15) Vitamin C has an important role in wound healing and can improve the proper formation of strong scar tissue. (16)
While true deficiency in the United States is uncommon, it is possible to be consuming sub-optimal levels, particularly in a diet with limited fruits and vegetables. The highest sources of vitamin C include bell peppers, guava, dark leafy greens, broccoli, brussels sprouts, kiwi, citrus fruits, and strawberries. Certain fresh herbs such as cilantro, chives, thyme, basil and parsley are also high in vitamin C. Consuming a wide variety of colorful plant foods on a regular basis is the best way to get adequate vitamin C in your diet. It’s important to remember that vitamin C is sensitive to heat, so lightly cooking these plant foods or eating them raw (if possible) is ideal to maximize your intake of this vitamin.

Vitamin A - Deficiency of Vitamin A causes dryness of soft tissues and mucosal surface such as conjunctiva. These dry and scaly skin triggers more shredding of dead cells inside the hair follicles which gets mix up with the sebum produced by the sebaceous glands and form a plug which invites P. acne bacterial colonization and causes acne. Vitamin A is one of the vital vitamin that helps keeping our skin healthy and fights acne condition by eliminating P. acne bacteria. Vitamin A helps development of epithelial cells. It also helps reducing sebaceous gland size and sebum production that causes acne.

Source of Vitamin A

Vitamin A is available as Retinols and Carotenoids. Our body absorbs Retinol as fat soluble vitamins when we intake foods from animal products. Whereas Carotenoids can be gleaned from fruits and vegetables with beta-carotene (orange and yellow in color). The main sources are carrots, tomato, mangoes, sweet potatoes, orange, melon etc.

Our human body can't absorb carotenoids in its natural form, it needs to get converted into Retinol inside our body to be absorbed. Since Vitamin A is a fat soluble vitamin, so you must assimilate enough good fats like fatty fish, cheese, poultry and other meats into your diet to help absorbing this vitamin. If you are a vegetarian then you must try to feed your body with enough enough saturated fat from plant based diets like vegetable oils such as coconut or palm oil get enough good fats to facilitate the absorption of Vitamin A.

Those who are taking Vitamin A supplements should take it under doctor's supervision because Hypervitaminosis A will lead to toxic effect and has several side effects on human body.
Skin being the largest organ of human body needs proper nourishment to keep itself healthy and glowing. Deficiencies of important nutrients in human body is largely responsible for Acne. The breakout has less to do with external factors but more related to internal factors. Our processed foods and snacks lacks lots of essential nutrients that includes certain vitamins and minerals which helps to keep our skin healthy and fight back acne conditions. We need to feed those nutrients from other sources to make up the loss. While treating acne we generally try several creams to suppress the inflammation but we hardly care about focusing on internal reasons that are actually responsible for Acne breakout.
We need to understand that acne being an inflammation condition, our skin requires certain nutrients (Vitamins and Minerals) to nourish itself to produce plethora of anti-oxidants, boosting the immune system of skin to ward of infections and acne causing free-radicals.

Causes of Vitamin Deficiency - Vitamin deficiency in human body may either be primary or secondary. The primary deficiency is caused due to lack of Vitamin A foods in our diet and secondary deficiency may cause due to body's inability to absorb that vitamin from the diet, transport it to the places of requirement or utilization problem.

If you are blessed with clean and acne clear skin then you need not to worry much about what you are eating until you are not going overboard. A healthy balanced diet, healthy life style including daily exercise, proper sleep will take care of your skin beauty. But those who are not blessed with such healthy and acne free skin should take care of what they are including in their daily dietary habit as Good and Bad Diet Can Affect Your Acne Condition?

Those who have acne always keep worrying about - "does egg or chicken diet plays any role in acne condition?"

Generally our body has the immune power to fight any bad health condition to some extent so trying egg or chicken recipe occasionally may not cause any harm to your acne condition but you should avoid inclusion of egg or chicken in your regular diet.

Eggs has saturated fats and cholesterol and high level of iodine that spikes insulin levels which in turn sends signals to oil-producing glands to produce more oil that invites bacteria and cause dead cells to clog up the pores causing inflammation.

The risk of aggravating acne condition is even more if you are consuming non-organic eggs from poultry.

The poultry are fed with hormones for meat production and treated with anti-biotic. Both have adverse effect on human body. Those external hormone triggers hormonal imbalances in human body and the antibiotic sometimes they disrupts the normal balance of bacteria in the intestine by killing the good ones. This imbalance of intestinal bacteria also plays a role in worsening acne condition.

Please note that there is no scientific evidence of linking the worsening condition of acne and egg. But the factors mentioned above has been proved true in various individual research. Human body react differently to different diet based on the immune power within their body.

So, the best way to check whether inclusion or removing the egg from your diet causes any change in your acne condition is keeping it away from your diet for 5 to 6 and notice the changes. Then start assimilating the same within your regular diet. If the condition starts degrading then you must keep egg away from your daily diet.
Companies are spending tonnes of money in advertising various beauty creams, face wash and even acne cream for topical use to help you keep your skin clear, smooth and acne free. Most of your friends, neighbors and many others have grown out of their acne age and are enjoying their adulthood with clear and acne free skin. Some of them may have been facing occasional acne breakout but they quickly manage to get out of these emotional stress using medicated face wash, creams or over the counter available acne cream for topical use.

But why those common Topical Acne Treatments haven't worked for you?

Here is the answer. All the acne are not same. There are various types of acne depending upon the causes of acne.

There are many OTC (over the counter) acne cream available for treating periodic or moderate acne breakout. They act differently to prevent the breakout depending upon the ingredients main components of those creams. Lets check out the some of the components that are present in OTC acne creams.

Benzoyl peroxide - Helps killing acne bacteria and removing excess oil and dead cells that clogs the skin pores.

Salicylic acid - Some creams use Salicylic acid that helps slowing the process of shedding the cells that build up clog inside the hair follicles and cause acne..

Alpha hydroxy acids - Some OTC acne creams use Alpha hydroxy acids (synthetic version) that helps removing dead skin cells, reducing acne inflammation and stimulating new skin growth thus helps healing the acne scar.

Sulfur - Some OTC acne creams use sulfur as their main ingredient that helps removing dead skin cells and excess oils.

Now back to the answer why these acne creams are not working for you? Hope you have noticed that all these products are acting on superficial causes of reducing acne but they are not actually going to the cause of these acne causing factors. You have to understand that acne is just a manifestation that your skin is not healthy and there are deficiencies that should be eradicated from the root to get acne clear skin.

If the problem is occasional to moderate then these OCT acne creams will help suppressing them but if your skin is suffering serious problems like genetic or serious hormonal imbalance, then they will never work in your case.

You have to try holistic approach to improve the condition from inside, eradicate the main cause of acne from the root. Maintaining acne diet is one of the main ingredient of holistic acne treatment.

Acne no doubt leaves long-lasting scar on your self-confidence than on your skin. We all know that healthy diet or nutrition keeps us healthy. And being healthy also includes the healthiness of the largest organ of out body, the SKIN. Acne is the most common skin problem affecting millions worldwide. So, let's explore -

How good and bad diet can affect your acne condition?

Though the relationship between diet and acne is still a matter of debate but the research results at various times proved that inclusion of certain type of diet either ameliorate or aggravate the acne condition. So, we can safely hope to get some best results to alienate our acne problem by improving our food habit. Today I am going to discuss about both types of food that are either believed to worsen the acne condition and those that helps preventing acne.

Lets us start with foods that are believed to cause Acne:

Junk foods cause Acne -is it so?

Our parents and well wishers often poke us to restrict eating chocolates, burgers as they trigger the condition that favors acne breakout.

Again many dermatologist and chocolate/ burger lovers utter that these are just myth as relation between diet and acne has been controversial.

But there is something more to it that you can't ignore. In a study published in Archives of Dermatology 2002, strong evidences has been found about certain kind of foods triggers acne breakout.

Chocolates, breads, burgers and other refined grains contained refined carbs hence are categorized as “A diet with a high glycemic index – These food are quickly broken down into sugar. To control the sugar level, our body causes the insulin to spike up which
has a terrible effect on skin. The increased insulin level provokes increased sebum production leading to clogged pores and Acne breakout.

Relation between Dairy product or Milk and Acne

A 2005 article in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology found strong relation between milk or dairy product intake and acne.Though milk is essential for providing vitamins, minerals and calcium to keep our body healthy and fit but for those who are acne prone, milk does more harm than good to the body.

The milk or dairy product we consume contains abundance of IGF-1 hormone produced by cow to help their calf grow up big and strong. But the same hormone when consumed by acne prone human tends to make their acne grow big resulting in the ugly redness and swelling or inflammation of the acne. Moreover dairy products as mentioned in the above section raises insulin level that triggers excessive sebum production and clogged pores.

Now you may be thinking that foods are culprit for acne. Wait, there are many foods that supplies important minerals, vitamins etc that helps suppressing acne too.

So, let's check out the foods that helps curing acne?

There are certain things that we should add to our diet which helps improving the acne conditions. These are Vitamin - A, Vitamin B, Chromium, Zinc, Multi Vitamins, anti-oxidants etc.

Carrot having beta-carotene (Vitamin A) helps strengthening, maintenance and repair of the tissues that contributes in the formation of skin and mucous membranes. Vitamin A helps reducing the excess sebum production that is one of the main cause of acne development.

Brown Rice is considered as one of the rich source of Vitamin B that helps fighting skin stress which in turn helps regulating the hormone levels and acne breakouts.

Garlic - You must include Garlic in your diet as it is full of allicin a naturally occurring chemical that fights bacteria and viruses in our body.

Avocado is also very beneficial for skin. This fruit is rich in Vitamin C and Vitamin E. Vitamin C helps locking moisture inside the skin Vitamin E increases it's vitality and makes it healthy.

Nuts - Include Nuts in your diet as nuts are rich in selenium. Acne is somehow related to selenium deficiency.

I am sure that there are many more to add to the diet that helps controlling acne than what is mentioned in this list.
Console Your Skin From the Inflammations of Acne

Blemished skin with numerous zits, pimples, blackheads and whiteheads can be immensely agonizing. Your skin is well deserved to behold that flawless glow coupled with a suave texture, devoid of any distortions imbibed by your skin. Be it a man or woman, pimples requisites for a closely hideous face blotted with scars resultant from the blocked sebaceous glands in both males and females.

Commonly named as Acne Vulgaris, this particular skin disease inflicts when the oil glands bearing hair follicles releases excessive oil from the sebaceous gland, which becomes active during puberty. Do you worry that the hideous acne can leave perennial marks upon our skin? Of course not! The flaw lies in your adolescence and the impending hormone secretion exerting its presence via acne, but eventually dissolves into the skin with the passing time.

Reasons behind the Acne Eruptions

Not a single person is kept aside from the acne breakout, which surely comes upon you ones in a lifetime. Though there are a handful of assumptions for its eruption, there is no concrete cause to its procurement. Focusing on some of the commonly held causes may aid you in understanding acne and its probable causes.

Hormones: The advent of adolescence promotes the secretion of an augmented level of hormones. The puberty causes both the male and female to produce increased levels of androgens. Androgen is a kind of male sex hormones such as testosterone, which is responsible to influence the body to procure sebum. The excess production of sebum in the oil glands of your skin clogs your skin pores to cause acne.

What is acne scar? Why does Scarring happen?

Generally Acne does not leave any permanent scar when it is superficial but when it hits the dermis region of the skin then there is no escape to scar and we call it as Acne Scar.

In most cases what we consider as acne scar left by the small pimples or non-inflamed blemishes are not so but just a red or hyper-pigmented mark on the skin. They will get completely disappear within 6 to 12 months time. However the healing process can be speeded up with certain treatment that is discussed in the later part of this article. But certain kinds of inflammatory acne like inflamed pimples, nodules, cystic acne do more damage to skin tissue at the dermis level which is beyond normal repair leaving permanent scars. But these scars can also be reduced to great level with certain kinds of treatment.

So, that is a really good news for all kinds of acne sufferers.

Why does Scarring happen?

Scarring is a natural healing process of the skin that onset soon after acne lesion has healed. Generally small pimples or lesions does not leave any scar rather what you see after acne healing is the red or hyper pigmented mark or Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) on the skin resulted from inflammation of pimples which is a part of the natural healing process of the skin . If no more acne occurs at the same spot, then the healing and re-modelling process will take 6 to 12 months to heal up normally, leaving no marks. But healing up of scar and how skin reacts will depend upon the age, sex, ethnicity and heredity. The characteristics of the scar depend upon the depth and size of the wound caused by the acne lesion.

No proof has yet been found that Spicy food cause Acne or has any direct relation to the formation of acne.
Blackhead acne is just another form of acne problem that have very close resemblance with whitehead acne. The main difference between these two types of acne is that in case of blackhead acne the pores are open to the skin surface. Blackhead acne has a wider opening than normal acne and the comedo (a widened hair follicle filled skin debris, bacteria and oil) comes in direct contact with the air which starts oxidizing the plug resulting in dark in appearance.

Hence Blackhead acne is also known as Open Comedo. Despite their name, you can also notice them in yellowish appearance.
Causes of Blackhead acne:

The reason behind the causes of blackhead acne is same as any other. The difference exists only in its open pores and oxidization of the plugs, rest all is same as excess production of sebum clog the hair follicle and traps the dead skin debris inside that cause the formation and hardening into a plug.

Hormonal activities during puberty stimulates the sebaceous glands to produce more sebum and aggravates the condition even more. You should also take care of proper cleaning of your skin pores using some cleanser to keep the condition under control.

What is whitehead acne?

Whitehead acne is just another form of acne which is very common to people of every age, especially the teenagers. It is also known as closed comedone. They are pus filled raised bumps appears specially on the face and shoulder area.

How Whiteheads are formed?

Whiteheads are named after its white puss filled appearance. The reason behind the formation of whitehead acne are same sebaceous gland that produces excess oil and clogs the hair follicle. This sebum along with the dead cells and bacteria forms a plug harden up and gets trapped below the skin surface and gradually it starts appearing as tiny white spots on the skin surface. But even at this stage the pore is not open to get the plug in contact with air. Hence the head doesn't get darken and appears white under the skin surface. This is why they are known as Whitehead acne or closed comedone.

What are the areas affected by Whiteheads acne and why?

Skin types and conditions are different in different persons. So whitehead may appear at some location in one but at another location in another person. Whitehead generally hit the facial areas like forehead, nose and chin on the facial skin. But in some cases you may find them on other parts of the body also.

Whitehead specially pop-up in the area of forehead due to wearing of hats or bands or other head-wear designs that may contain bacteria due to prolonged usages without washing them. Hair style may also contribute to itching or irritating of the pores that provoke the more sebum production and whitehead breakout.

Whereas the skin on the nose, cheek and chin area are very sensitive. The pores of these areas should be kept clean from sweat, dust and other dirt even you should keep yourself away from the habit of touching your face with your hands too often as our our hands may contain lots of bacteria due to get in touch with lots of substance.

You may have noticed that most of the people around you have got Acne clear skin whereas you or some of your acquaintance has got acne/ pimples. But you may also have noticed that the acne/ pimples on your skin may have some difference than others. Yes, you have read it right. All Acne are not same. There are different types of Acne which has been classified into four grades.

Grading Your Acne type is not any Rocket Science. Each grade of Acne has its own course of treatment. You can easily grade your acne by a simple visual inspection that will help you to choose the course of treatment for curing your acne.

Dermatologists use to categorize the Acne types into four grades as mentioned below -

Grade I - Blackheads and Whiteheads/ milia

If you notice minor pimples on your skin or face very occasionally in small numbers (one or two) then just chill because your Acne is at Grade I and you can easily treat it at home with over the counter medications available that contains salicylic acid.

Grade I acne is very common for everyone during their early adolescence but many adults also experience this Grade I acne. It is generally noticeable as Blackhead and Milia. Blackheads are are generally noticeable on the nose and forehead whereas Milia are very common in the eye area and chin region.

Grade I acne should not be ignored and should be treated to prevent it from further progression to Grade II
Grade I acne can be safely treated at home using drugs available over the counter containing salicylic acid. Grade I acne responds quickly to the treatment resulting in Acne Clear Skin.

Grade II - Pauples and Pustules

Sometimes when Grade I acne left untreated or the severity is little high due to hormonal reasons, the Acne proceed towards next level. At that time, it was in moderate stage. The blackheads and milia started occurrirng in greater number. The breakout activity of Pauples and Pustules, sligh inflammation of the skin will be more frequent and obvious. The spreading is more obvious in Teens where acne starts spreading to other areas of faces. It may also start spreading over the other parts of the body like shoulders, chest especially in males, whereas in adult female the breakout is more frequent during and before the menstrual cycle in the cheeks, chin and jaw line area.

While your acne in in Grade II status, you can still treat it with over-the-counter medication containing Salicylic acid along with benzoyl peroxide lotion. Don't prick or squeeze the acne, it will worsen the condition.

If you notice that there is no significant improvement after treating for several weeks then it is the time to visit a dermatologist. You should not ignore this else your acne will keep progressing to Grade III and IV.

Grade III - Pauples, Pustules, Nodules

Acne reaches to Grade III either due to ignoring its suppression by simple at the home treatment or in lots of cases the reason being that acne does not respond to the Grade II treatment. The acne at this stage is at severe condition. The inflammation is even more and reddened. The breakout of papules and pustules are even more frequent along with the presence of nodules. Apart from spreading on the face region, it also attacks other regions like neck, shoulders and/or upper back, chest. At Grade III, acne are more likely to left scars as the infection spreads and become deeper.

At this stage, it is highly advisable not to ignore it neither keep wasting time trying on the counter medication and home based treatment. Consult a dermatologist who will give you better treatment both topical and systemic therapies. Delaying at this stage will aggravate the condition even more and it will be more likely to proceed towards Grade IV.

Grade IV - Cystic Acne

This is the worst stage of acne someone can go through. Dermatologists refer this type of acne as nodulocystic or cystic acne. The infection gets deeper and widespread over several parts of the body like entire back, chest, neck, shoulders, upper arms etc. Your skin will suffer the outburst of papules, pustules and nodules along with the cysts. This is a painful stage of acne. The chances of scarring are almost 100% in case of Cystic acne.
At this stage, dermatologists prescribe powerful medicines along with topical treatments to bring the Acne under control.

Well the fact is that you are genetically destined to get acne whereas your friend is lucky enough to escape that. But you need not to disappoint at all. You too can control your acne with the Easy Acne clear treatment mentioned on this blog. But before that you should know what makes your skin Acne prone. What is the difference between the normal follicle and obstructed Acne prone follicle?

People with Acne prone skin have actual problems lies in their follicles. They don't behave as normal follicle, on the contrary they are malfunctioning. Acne prone skin are genetically destined to have larger and overactive sebaceous glands, which not only causes acne but are also responsible for oily skin.

Difference between Acne Prone Follicles and Normal Follicles :-

Normal Follicle -

The Normal follicles help keeping skin healthy and moisturized. The sebum, a mixture of fats, proteins, cholesterol and inorganic salts produced by the sebaceous glands combines with the dead cells being sloughed off inside the hair follicle to fill up the follicles. After the follicles get filled up, the sebum and dead cell mixture travels up the follicle and exits through the pore and spreads over the skin surface. On the skin surface it not only gives the oily appearance and moistened the skin but also forms a protective coating on our skin and prevents our skin from damages due to bacteria, viruses, winds, rains etc. Thus, the skin of people with normal follicles remains moistened and healthy.

Acne Prone Pores / Obstructed Follicle / Blocked Skin Pores

The activities inside Acne Prone pores or Abnormal Follicles are much different from those of normal follicles. The lining cells of Acne Prone pores become abnormally sticky, causes formation of clumps. Hence these sticky keratinocytes fails to shed off individually at a time. The clumps clog the pores and prevents the normal traveling of sebum and dead cells to the surface of the skin. These blocked material inside the follicle in an effort to get on the surface through occluded pores but can't cause white head acne / blackhead acne / pimples.
Our skin consists of hair follicles all over the body except the region where we don't have body hair like the palm of the hands, foot soles and lips. These hair follicles along with sebaceous gland and a hair forms Pilosebacious unit. It is a disorder of this pilosebaceous unit that causes the acne formation on our skin.
Though the sebum produced by sebaceous glands are meant to keep the skin and hair healthy and moisturized but it is the same sebum that plays the main culprit role in the formation of acne.

But the question is -

What causes Acne formation? How sebum is responsible for acne?

During puberty or adolescence the levels of androgen hormone secretion within our body controls the activities of sebaceous glands. People with Acne has higher level of androgen hormone that promotes enlarging of the sebaceous glands and triggers the excess production of sebum.

We human skin hosts a bacteria known as Propionibacterium acnes Being a normal inhabitant of the skin this bacteria feed on sebum for their own growth and multiply themselves to build up the bacterial colony. These bacteria attract White Blood Cells to the follicle to kill them. The enzymes produced by White Blood Cells damages the follicle wall allowing the contents of the follicle to enter the dermis. This invasion process can be seen as inflammatory response in the skin and can be noticed as papules (red bumps), pustules and nodules. This inflammatory process is further increased by irritants or the fatty acids formed by those bacteria.

Dermatologists called it by its scientific name - "Acne Vulgaris", which is common acne.

Since ages, there are several theories associated with the causes of Acne. Earlier, it was believed to be associated with consumption of greasy food. Recent researches have revealed that acne is directly related to Hormonal fluctuations and the presence of various levels of male and female hormone in our body. It is also related to Stress.

Acne formation -

Acne generally appears on Face, chest, back, shoulders and neck region. Our skin consists of hair follicles (a tiny tunnel that consists a hair and oil producing glands) except in few areas of our body like lips, palms of hand and soles of our feet. Each of the pores on our skin is actually an opening to those hair follicles.

The sebum produced by the sebaceous glands in hair follicle on one hand responsible for keeping the skin moisturized and hydrated whereas in some cases it is the sebum produced by those sebaceous glands are the culprits for the formation of Acne.

The excess sebum or oil clog the pores and the dead skin cells gets trapped inside the hair follicle. The dead skin cells, sebum and the hair together forms a plug that attracts bacteria and gets infected which results in swelling or follicles to get inflamed.
